DescriptionThis photograph shows Frances Goodrich (hand on wagon) and others standing beside a mule-drawn wagon loaded with coverlets headed to market. The photograph was probably taken in the late 1890s or early 1900s near the Allanstand community in Madison County, N.C. The photograph also appears in the facsimile reissue of Goodrich's book "Mountain Homespun."
