DescriptionThis signed photograph of a woman with a coverlet in her lap was taken by Doris Ulmann around 1933 or 1934. She is seated in front of a quilt. Identifying text on the back of the photograph has been obliterated except for the title and fragments of the subject's name and location. From this and other sources, the woman appears to be Sarah Connelly, a spinner and weaver from Brasstown, N.C.
