DescriptionThis promotional postcard was produced by the John C. Campbell Folk School in the 1940s. It features woodcarvers Glen Brown and Hope Caler Brown. Both learned to carve from Murrial Martin in 1939 and 1940 respectively. They sold their carving through the Folk School woodcarving cooperative which became known as the Brasstown Carvers. The original photograph was taken by Betty Denash. The postcard is has been somewhat worn.
