| Description | These minutes document a significant meeting of the directors of Allanstand Cottage Industries held on March 3, 1931. At this meeting, Allanstand Cottage Industries was formally dissolved. The president reported arranging for the distribution of the property and surplus craft items left in Allanstand's inventory to the Southern Mountain Handicraft Guild. Before the vote was cast at this meeting, the board had consulted with Marguerite Butler, then president of the guild, Olive Campbell, director of the John C. Campbell Folk School, and Clementine Douglas of the Spinning Wheel. Francis Goodrich, founder of Allanstand, was present at the meeting. |
