Description |
This hand made appliqué quilt was designed in Allanstand, N.C. and quilted in Kentucky around the 1910s or early 1920s. The design was taken from the McGrary family quilt which was made in Pennsylvania in the 1800s and traveled south with the family. The copy of the 1800's original was given to Frances Goodrich by Jessie Shanks of Bryson City, North Carolina. |
