Description	This 1984 newsletter of the John C. Campbell Folk School features a story on the life of Jack Hall, a "legend at the Folk School." Carving at the young age of 11, Hall was one of the original carvers who produced and sold carvings by the school's woodcarving cooperative in the 1930s. This cooperative became known as the Brasstown Carvers and Hall eventually became an instructor for the carvers. The newsletter includes photographs of Hall's carvings, including a "Tennessee mule" and a figure of Saint Francis. Also included in this newsletter is an article by Chris Spicer titled "Folkehojskole: Refocusing on a Concept." This article links current John C. Campbell Folk School activity with the school's original ideals.
