Description	John C. Campbell Folk School published a series of newsletters from 1926 to 1950. Written like a letter from the school's director, the newsletter is a source of information about the classes and activities at the Folk School and their impact on the surrounding community. In this issue the worsening economic conditions due to the Depression are addressed. The school is affected, but is also attempting to ameliorate the situation by creating work for the community and uplifting spirits through continuing social activities. The success of the Handicraft Guild and the Creamery are reported to somewhat relieve financial strains. As the Folk School pushes on through the economic crisis, the newsletter urges donors to continue to support the school as much as possible. Specific needs stated are a laundry, enabling the school to save money and create more jobs, and a building to house farm equipment. Included are several photographs of the local community.
