Description	This talk was given by Olive Dame Campbell at the Conference of Southern Mountain Workers meeting in the spring of 1929. Here Campbell describes how representatives of seven mountain craft centers met at Penland, North Carolina in December 1928 to discuss the idea of an umbrella organization that would benefit the various Craft Revival initiatives happening throughout southern Appalachia. She asked the conference for their input and backing as a committee set out to advance the development of such an organization. The following year, the Southern Mountain Handicraft Guild (later the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild) was founded and held its first meeting with the Conference of Southern Mountain Workers.
