details
how to
weave
chair
seats
using
natural
materials
such
as
cattail
leaves
,
cornhusks
,
raffia
,
bark
, and
twine
.
Although
Wilkie
presents
these
instructions
for the
average
housewife's
use
in
re-doing
worn
out
seats
, this
same
method
was
used
for
making
seats
in
new
chairs
such
as those
make
by the
Mace
and
Woody
family
of
chairmakers
and
sold
through
Allanstand
Cottage
Industries
. At the
time
this
article
was
written

managing
the

shop
in
Asheville
